2026 NNA Rules, Umpire Education and Pathway Opportunities
NNA will be facilitating the following opportunities for learning the rules of netball and to develop as an umpire in 2025:
Umpires Rule Clarification Session
All badged umpires, Winter Competition coaches, Tri Series coaches and Representative coaches are invited to attend this session.
6-9pm, Friday 27 March 2026
NNA Clubhouse
Light refreshments will be provided.
All interested participants must register to attend this session no later than 23 March 2026.
12yrs Rules Sessions
For those players who will be required to begin to umpire games as a component of their team umpire duty requirements for the season (12yrs Divisions). Theory and Practical components. Older players who missed this session in previous years are also welcome to attend.
Choice of 1 of the following session times:
Saturday 14 March
8.30amsign in for 9am - 11.30am or
12.30pm sign in for 1pm - 3.30pm or
Saturday 21 March
8.30am for 9am-11.30am or
12.30pm sign in for 1pm - 3.30pm
Sessions held at NNA Clubhouse.
All participants must register to attend the session of their choice no later than 13 March 2026.
Each session has a maximum of 40 participants. Should max number be reached, you will be contacted to determine an alternative session.
Whistles & rule books will be available for purchase.
Attendance at 1 of 4 sessions held in March resulted in participants receiving the Bronze Award.
2026 Tier 1 and Tier 2 Program -
Theory & practical support by NNA Umpire coaches throughout the season to further develop as an umpire.
All interested in Tier 1 & 2 must register no later than 13 March 2026.

Umpire Requests 2026
PLEASE NOTE: Umpire Requests in 2026 as per the NNA Umpire Policy and Procedures:
12. UMPIRE REQUESTS
1. Teams may request one (1) official umpire to umpire their own fixture game for the prescribed fee, and by completing the ‘Request’ form correctly by 5.00pm on the Saturday prior to the requested game, with the payment, to be handed in at the office. If games are abandoned, requests are to be submitted to the Convenor by 5pm on the Wednesday before the game requested. A Request Form is available at the NNA Umpires Office
